How to open the program folder?



  • Position the pointer on the first item, program.
  • A second menu, the program menu opens. It displays the windows program which is installed in you computer.

NOTE:
You do not have to click on programs to open its menu. It opens automatically when the pointer has been on it. This is referred to as cascade menu, identified by small right arrowhead. To open a cascade menu immediately, click on it.

How to view the start menu?



When you start a windows, the Taskbar contains a single button labeled. This button does what its name implies; it starts programs, opens files, get help, runs any program and shut down the computer.


  • Position the mouse pointer on the start button.
  • Click once and the Start Menu open up.

The Start Menu is a list of things you can do in Windows. Notice that the first four items on the start menu have a little arrows on the right. That means that these items are folders that contain other items for selection.

How to move the taskbar to the top of the desktop?


The taskbar initially appears at the bottom of the desktop. However, you can move it to the top, left or right part of the desktop if you prefer.

  • Click anywhere on black part of the Taskbar.
  • Without releasing the mouse button, drag the Taskbar to the top of the screen. Notice that as you do this, an outline of taskbar appears to guide you.
  • Release the mouse button and the Taskbar is moved to this position.
